Vision and Perseverance

It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.
Albert Einstein

Perseverance is commitment, hard work, patience, endurance.  It is being able to bear difficulties calmly and without complaint.  We  have all encountered what might be considered setbacks in working to make our vision a reality.  But, if in our heart, we understand that each day we’re getting closer, we find the strength to persevere.  When we work as a unit, the process becomes easier as we draw strength from each other.

Rapid changes that present new realities are never easy.  These are not changes we seek, but changes that are imposed.  Rising gas prices.  Uncertain employment or unemployment.  Political turmoil.

Difficult times, such as that we are experiencing right now, can cause us to question the validity of our vision, and doubt our ability to persevere.  We can begin to believe that we must abandon our dreams because times are too hard.  We believe that we are facing circumstances and situations never before experienced.

History would prove our perception to be in error, or skewed – based upon incomplete data.  Others have faced worse. And they persevered.

Every moment of every day will not be a success story. That’s why it’s so important to have a vision of where you’re going that will sustain you during dry spells. Will everyone agree with your vision, or the way you approach it?  Absolutely not!  There will be naysayers who want to give in and give up.  If they don’t share the vision, they won’t share the pain.

DON’T GIVE UP.  If your dreams and vision are true, your desire to accomplish them will outweigh your weariness.  You may have to rethink the process and make adjustments for today’s realities, but if what you want to accomplish and contribute is important, it can withstand adjustments.

What is your vision? Does it invigorate you?  Are you working each day toward achieving it?  Have faith, persevere.  You can make it come to pass.

It is so important to mark, and celebrate, every milestone of your journey to wherever it is you’re trying to go. And remember Einstein’s remarks:  “It’s not that I’m so smart;  it’s just that I stay with the problem longer.”

Take heart.  And keep going.
